Made it to Baddeck on Cape Breton Island. Before we left Moncton, saw the tidal bore again (as predicted 25 minutes earlier than the time they said). We walked down and got a better vintage point from the old hotel we stayed at. I could tell it was coming because the tide started to change.
Went to Magnetic Hill just after leaving the hotel. It had opened at 8 am, but when we got there at around 9:30ish they still weren’t charging. We just had to remember what you do since no one was there to give any guidance about putting it in neutral. I guess it’s an optical illusion…it looks like you’re going downhill to get into position, but really something with the horizon line throws you and you’re actually going uphill. Then when you put your car in neutral you look like you’re rolling up the hill, but you’re really rolling down. Once we left the hill, they had started charging (I think $5 a car). I know because we were stuck in the parking lot and couldn’t find the exit so we went around to where you do it again lol.
May try the lobster dinner in Baddeck tonight, right by the motel. They have snow crab legs and steak so the entries are different than the ham we had at the P.E.I. one.
Update: The Lobster Supper was closed today because of a family funeral, so we went to the restaurant of the sister resort across the street and sat outside by the water.
