Drove to PEI today. Stopped just before the bridge (this nature park has a lookout – didn’t go to the very top though). That’s where I sadly broke my Ray-Bans 😦

Before checking into the Cavendish motel, made a few stops: the Gateway Village on the other side of the bridge (the Cows line was too long), Chelton Beach with a view of the bridge (for some reason it was super windy this afternoon), The one-room schoolhouse L.M. Montgomery taught at (just through the windows so we didn’t have to pay the $5 lol, and Spinnaker’s Landing which is a small store complex in Summerside…mom stayed in a dark around there she thinks when she was 11).

Once we checked into the motel, headed to what I think is the only mall on the island in Charlottetown. Many of the stores in it were closed up, but they had a Sunglass Hut. Ended up getting the same glasses again, and I was 17 days past being about to get a new pair for 50%…I bought the ones I sat on just over a year ago 😦
We left Nala for the first time on our trip and headed to the New Glasgow Lobster Supper a few minutes from the motel). We didn’t like the idea of eating inside but wanted to try it for the all-you-can-eat apps and desserts (no one had lobsters!) Each of us got the ham, which is actually just a few bucks more than just having the apps and desserts and no main. The appetizers are really good buns, tomato soup, seafood chowder, coleslaw, potato, and garden salads, and mussels. The dessert they’re famous for the the lemon meringue pie, but you can get a bunch of pie types, ice cream, and coffee. Seconds of everything are allowed except the main course. The ham came with scalloped potatoes which were really good (everything was actually!) So full afterwards!
The motel seemed a bit damp-smelling at first, but mom liked the rustic nature of it. It reminds her of her youth coming here, which is how long I think it’s been around!!
